Jeremy Edberg has worked as a Systems Administrator, Programmer, and Security Engineer for such companies as eBay, PayPal, and Sendmail for the last 10 years. He is currently the operations manager for reddit.com, an Alexa top 1000 web site, whose entire operations are run on ec2. He graduated with a Cognitive Science degree from UC Berkeley.

Similar to the website, the book attempts to put the current trends in computing within a historical context, coalescing thoughts, ideas, case-studies, and predictions from technology leaders and pioneers.
